Waterstops are partially or completely embedded in concrete during the pouring process. There are many sharp stones and steel bar heads in the concrete. Due to the fact that the tear strength of plastics and rubber is 3-5 times lower than their tensile strength, once punctured or torn, the crack will expand without significant external force. Therefore, in the positioning of waterstops and the pouring and compaction process of concrete, attention should be paid to the positioning method and compaction pressure to avoid being punctured.

The specific precautions are as follows:

1. Rubber waterstops should not be exposed to sunlight for long periods of time to prevent rain, and should not come into contact with highly polluting chemicals.
2. During transportation and construction, prevent mechanical and steel damage to the waterstop.
3. The construction unit must be reliably fixed during the construction process to avoid displacement during concrete pouring and ensure the correct position of the waterstop in the concrete.
4. The methods of fixing the waterstop include: using additional steel bars for fixation, using specialized clamps for fixation, using lead wires and templates for fixation, etc. If perforation is required, it can only be installed in the edge installation area of the Shaoxing pile foundation acoustic tube, and other parts must not be damaged.
5. When placing an order, the user should calculate the length of the product based on the engineering structure and design drawings. For irregular structures, there should be a drawing description. It is recommended to connect the pile foundation acoustic tube as a whole in the factory. If on-site connection is required, electric heating plate vulcanization bonding or cold bonding methods can be used.

Connection overlap method

1. The concrete interface with a fixed selection of waterstop can be kept flat and dry. Before installation, the system interface should be cleaned of floating debris, dust, and debris. The waterstop should be fixed to the designated installation locations with steel nails or adhesive. However, the surface with grouting pipes must be placed on the original concrete interface.
2. When connecting the waterstop, parallel overlap should be used without leaving any breaks in between. The connection should be reinforced and fixed with steel nails, and the reserved grouting connection pipe on the waterstop should be inserted into another equal waterstop and connected to the two-way joint.
3. According to the length of the installed water stop strip, a three-way joint should be installed at a distance of about 30 meters. One end of the straight three-way joint should be inserted into the water stop strip, the other end should be inserted into the grouting connection pipe, and the other T-shaped end should be inserted into the spare grouting to prevent chemical grouting water leakage in case of gaps.
4. Firmly bond the grouting connection pipe in the connected waterstop with the three-way connector, and ensure that the grouting pipe of the installed waterstop is completely unobstructed. The spare grouting pipe installed on the tee should be placed in the direction of the inner wall.
