Selection and installation precautions for bowl type supports

1. Regarding the selection of basin type supports
As is well known, there are two main types of pot supports: fixed supports and movable supports. Then the movable supports can be divided into two types: one-way movable supports and two-way movable supports (common classification).
Generally speaking, if it is a fixed end of a bridge, a fixed support (hereinafter referred to as support 1) should be selected, but if it is a movable end, a movable support (hereinafter referred to as support 2) should be selected.
For simply supported beam bridges, we should set up corresponding supports 1 at one end of each span, and appropriate supports 2 at the other end. For continuous beam bridges, we should install support 1 on one pier in each pair, while appropriate support 2 should be installed on all other piers and abutments. If the bridge deck is wide, the distance between the two supports at the fixed end may be relatively large. When the expansion and contraction values in the transverse direction cannot be ignored, the fixed end cannot use support 1. (At this time, it is necessary to choose a unidirectional movable support, rotate the support 90 degrees, and then place it under the beam.) In order to ensure the fixed effect in the longitudinal direction while also playing a movable role in the transverse direction.
In order to effectively reduce the stress on piers and abutments, different bridges have different methods. For simply supported beam bridges, their fixed supports can be arranged on lower elevation piers and abutments. For continuous beam bridges, fixed supports can be arranged at the pivot point in the middle.
Bidirectional movable supports can move in any direction within the horizontal plane. So, if it is a curved bridge with movable piers and abutments, this type of bi-directional movable support can be chosen. For one-way movable supports, they are more suitable for the use of straight bridges. Note: Unidirectional movable supports are only suitable when there is only one support on the movable pier or when the lateral temperature expansion and contraction between the supports is very small.
2. Precautions for the installation of basin type supports
Set corresponding support pad stones on the top surface of the pier and abutment.
Before installing the bowl shaped support, it is necessary to unpack and conduct a comprehensive inspection, followed by cleaning and removing oil stains.
In addition to ensuring that the elevation meets the design requirements, it is also necessary to ensure the horizontal plane in three directions (to ensure the performance of the support, etc.).
The distance between the vertical and vertical components of the support must be equal to the calculated value (after all, the temperature during installation may be slightly different from the design temperature).
