Installation of high damping isolation bearings for bridges

The rubber formula for high damping bearings is excellent (using excellent heat oxidation and fatigue resistance). Therefore, high damping bearings have good resistance to atmospheric aging and compression fatigue. In addition, rubber bearings are already large volume products, so their internal structure is not easily affected by environmental degradation effects.
Regarding high damping seismic isolation rubber bearings, due to their excellent aging resistance, they have become a popular product among people. Based on the experimental and practical investigation and analysis results of accelerated aging of rubber bearings and their rubber materials at home and abroad, the aging of rubber in high damping isolation rubber bearings generally only touches the surrounding parts (its internal shape can still remain unchanged, creep and relaxation phenomena are relatively small, and it gradually tends to a stable value). Generally speaking, the service life of high damping bearings can even exceed 80 years (which can synchronize with or even exceed the service life of buildings).
Regarding the installation of high damping seismic isolation bearings for bridges.
1) The installation of the high damping support body can only be carried out after the concrete strength of the bearing platform meets the requirements of the plan. Before installation, it is necessary to clean the bearing platform and the lower embedded plate. The next step can only be carried out after the cleaning work is completed.
2) Use a tower crane to lift the body of the isolation rubber bearing (this step requires stability), and then lift it to a position 50mm above the corresponding lower embedded plate before adjusting the position of the bearing (placing it in the center of the lower embedded plate). Align the bolt holes on the lower connecting plate of the support body with the bolt holes on the lower embedded plate, and then insert the bolts and lightly tighten them a few times. Finally, after confirming the precise position, fully lower the support body (and tighten the bolts with a wrench). It should be noted that when tightening bolts, they need to be inserted, symmetrical, and stopped.
3) After the use of the main equipment of the bridge isolation rubber bearing, it is necessary to connect it to the embedded plate on the bearing with bolts (at the connection plate on the bearing body), and then adjust the elevation of the embedded plate (so that it is equal to the top of the upper bearing platform template). After the completion of the formwork support for the upper abutment and bearing beam, it is necessary to align and secure the embedded plates on the supports.
4) After the high damping seismic isolation bearing equipment of the bridge is used up, it needs to be suspended for inspection. After passing the inspection, it should be wrapped with fireproof rock wool and finally sealed with bamboo plywood for protection.
