  • Introduction to Laminated Rubber Bearings

Selection is in accordance with the requirements of JT/T 4-2019, Highway Bridge Laminated Rubber Bearing Specification Series: Suitable for rectangular and circular plate-type laminated rubber bearings used in highway bridges with a bearing capacity of less than 5000kN

    Structure and Performance:

Ordinary laminated rubber bearings are made of multiple layers of rubber sheets and thin steel plates vulcanized and bonded together. They have sufficient vertical stiffness to reliably transfer the reaction force of the superstructure to the pier; they have good elasticity to adapt to the rotation of the beam ends; and they have a large shear deformation capacity to meet the horizontal displacement of the superstructure.

A 2mm-3mm polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plate is bonded to the surface of an ordinary laminated rubber bearing to create a PTFE sliding laminated rubber bearing. In addition to having vertical stiffness and elastic deformation, and being able to withstand vertical loads and adapt to beam end rotation, the low friction coefficient structure composed of the PTFE plate, 201 silicone grease, and stainless steel plate allows the beam end to slide freely on the PTFE plate surface, with unrestricted horizontal displacement; it is particularly suitable for bridges with medium and small loads and large displacement amounts.

Laminated rubber bearings are not only excellent in technical performance, but also have advantages such as simple structure, low Price, convenient maintenance, easy replacement, buffer shock absorption, and low building height. They are quite popular in the bridge industry and are widely used.
